BNP Paribas

The central hall of BNP Paribas is a real eye-catcher – an impressive fusion of branding, architecture and nature.

In the heart of Brussels stands the new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis – a paragon of innovation, sustainability and biophilic design. The building has seven above-ground and five underground floors, representing 103,500 m² of working space for 4,500 employees. The design, realized by BESIX and Eiffage, was awarded the title of ‘Best Office and Business Development’ at the MIPIM Awards 2022.

Any Green was commissioned to integrate nature into this impressive work environment. The interior is characterized by a minimalist interior design with soft lines, abundant daylight and natural materials. In the central hall, which connects all floors, we created green interior gardens with a rich variety of large and small plants. These green oases provide a lively contrast to the austere white architecture.

The hall with its curved balconies and warm wood accents serves as both a visual and social focal point. Here there are several restaurants where employees can unwind or connect with each other. The planting enhances these zones and brings peace and balance to the dynamic architecture. Tall plants and vibrant foliage enhance the flowing lines of the design and nicely complement the earth tones of the wood trim.

This project is a prime example of biophilic design – an approach that bridges the gap between architecture and nature. Thanks to the seamless integration of greenery, this contemporary office was transformed into a sustainable and people-oriented work environment where well-being is key.
